We recently caught up with Friso Woudstra of Radio Kalahari Orkes on the release of their new album, ‘Mamba’.
Congrats on the release of Mamba! What can fans expect from this album?
Thank you! We have spiced this one up quite a bit when it comes to RKO album releases. Mamba has a mixture of musical genre’s and a variation of styles from ballads to epic anthem songs.
This is your first release in five years. What else has the band been up to?
We have been doing live shows all over the country and Europe. Now that we have the new album out its great to be working on playing the new songs live and working on a new show.
What are your thoughts on the local music scene at the moment?
I think there are some talented guys bringing out some good stuff but think there’s a serious shortage in venues for bands to perform in the big cities.
Where can fans catch you live in the next while?
In March we’re playing in Tulbach on the 24th, Oesfees at Solms Delta on the 25th and Hangklip Hotel in Pringle Bay on the 26th.
