Five years ago nobody would have been able to predict this, but “hier’s hy nou, Jack Parow”.
“Thank you for being so blerrie kief. For me, it is an amazing vibe and an amazing honour to go platinum! You are more than fans, we roll like an army and nobody can stand beside us. Sexy korrek of hou jou bek. Hosh ja!”
Pierre Greeff, co-owner of Supra Familias and and founding member of the Afrikaans electro sensation, Die Heuwels Fantasties, is just as excited about this feat: “Parow is my hero and the greatest guy to share a stage with! Congratulations Zander! “Conquering country for country.””
The K-Day situation
The organisers of K-Day asked Parow to do a ‘clean’ performance and he agreed. Last year, the organisers of Joburg Day, hosted by Highveld Stereo, also asked for a set without swear words and the day passed without any controversy.
“I am disappointed that people are so judgmental, but it is okay. My fans are my blood, so I know they stand behind me. Kykhie, hos ja,” was Parow’s comment to Rapport last week.
Jack Parow’s performance at the Kirstenbosch Summer Concert on 16 January was sold out and proof of his popularity on his home turf. At least six thousand people attended this concert and they were all on their feet for his whole set.
He is not one for sitting around. Another tour to Europe is planned for later this year.
Jack Parow’s new single: Byellville
‘Byellville’ will be the next single and video to be release. The release date is set for the beginning of March. A kief launch will be held at Knoxville, Cape Town on 1 March. The music video was directed by Duvan Durand, who is also responsible for the hit videos ‘Cooler as Ekke’ and ‘Dans Dans Dans’.
