The new single, ‘Younger’, with influences of both EDM and rock, is both emotive and anthemic. It speaks into the innocence and beauty of childhood and the tragedy of us giving that up.
Drummer Robbie Spooner is thrilled with the single and fans of the band are in for a treat with the release of ‘Younger’. Spooner comments, “This song has been our best received unreleased song whenever we play live for ages! It’s finally time to release it and we’re extremely excited”
Opposite The Other are Samuel Burger, Robbie Spooner and Daniel Burger. They formed just over 18 months ago and after supporting both The Lumineers and Bastille on their respective headline shows of South Africa in 2017, embarked on their first European Tour in February 2018, alongside Matthew Mole, for shows in the UK, Germany and The Netherlands.
The Alt-Pop, synth driven sound has inspired the early singles including songs such as Ride Away, Stutter Love and Everybody Knows. In a short career the band has enjoyed chart topping success on major South African radio stations, millions of streams on Spotify and had two singles feature on the Spotify Global Viral Charts, sitting in the Top 20 globally, the Top 15 in the UK, Australia and France and the Top 10 in the US.
